European Commission launches consultation on introducing European Professional Card (EPC) for 7 professions

Friday, 11 April 2014

On 7 April 2014 the European Commission has published a consultation on introducing the European Professional Card (EPC) for nurses, doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, engineers, mountain guides & real estate agents. The consultation is open until 2 June 2014.

The objective of this consultation is to seek further views and collect data on issues including the mobility of professionals, application procedures & fees in the different EU countries from the professional associations & the authorities responsible for recognition of professional qualifications. The Commission will use the responses to assess whether the EPC is appropriate for the professions concerned, and what impact it will have on EU countries. Other interested parties - e.g. employers' organisations, trade unions, or other public authorities - are also welcome to contribute their views.

To take part in the consultation it is necessary to fill the relevant on-line questionnaire
(a version for competent authorities or for other organisations/bodies) on the Commission’s website:

http://ec.europa.eu/internal_market/consultations/2014/european-professional-card/index_en.htm

The page also contains additional information about the deadlines and on how to submit
a contribution.

Questionnaires are currently available in English language only. Other language version will be published as soon as they become available. The explanatory documents attached to the questionnaire will be available in English, French and German.
